The beautiful french bus picked us up at the Best Western
Colbert and took us to Belle-Isle at 9:00 a.m. Since we had partied
the night before at Déols until 11:00 p.m. (we wined and dined for hours!),
some of us (shall we say - mature folks) had a really hard time arising. :)
We were soon wide awake as we pulled into the grounds
of Belle Isle. Belle Isle has facilities to present exhibits, separate
buildings for holding meetings, a museum of sorts which I didn't find out
the name - picnic grounds and the old swimming pool. It seems to
be a popular place for people to go and enjoy a weekend family-style.
There were hundreds of people already at the fair
grounds and we were greeted while still on the bus with waves and cheers and
big smiles on everyone's faces. The surprise on the bus
was audible! Lots of "Wow!'s"; "Look at that!'s" "Oh
boy's" and every other expression of surprise at the french greeting.
We certainly did not expect anything of this magnitude!

As we drove into Belle Isle, we were met at that gate by reporters and just curious people to see who was on the big bus that could barely turn.

The beautiful smiling face of Sylvie Moreau, as she directed traffic and passed out "goodie bags", was a welcome greeting indeed! Sylvie is standing at the entrance of Belle-Isle. |

These handsome guys are Sylvie's friends: Eric; Jean-Denis; Sylvie's best friend, Eric and Francois. They are all in the Biker Club that helped with the traffic flow at Belle Isle. |

I think this fella is either one of the Chateauroux Orcs or maybe just a fan. |

On the left is the Exhibit Hall. Outside, where the
big red rig is parked, is where the Motorcycles were on exhibit. On
the right were the "oldies but goodie" french automobiles and American cars
from the 50's & 60's - shiny and as beautiful as the day they were
manufactured! I looked for my dad's '56 two-toned green Dodge, but
that big boat must have sunk.
The bikers,
soccer players, duded-up cowboys and smiling french faces were
representative of the warm welcome we received. Even french Elvis was
there to greet us.
Christiane Roslawski seems to be
enjoying the classic car. The cowboy and Indian - "je ne c'est pas."
Your guess is as good as mine :) Ron & Michelle are really "swinging."
The vendors had a varied assortment of wares and Christian Gilles'
wife, Danielle, surveys the land.
