Replaced Nat Long as guard in Berlin when Doc Smoak wouldn’t let Nat play. We played in Berlin the day the wall went up. Suited up only 16 players that day.; SSgt Nathaniel “Nat” Long, guard, 3130 AB Gp, AP Sqdndn base judo instructor, played football   at Laon AB in 1960, wife was also a base self-defense instructor; A1C Tommy Smith, center, Dental Tech at 7373rd USAF Hosp Dental Clinic; Capt. (Dr.) Randy Smoak, flight surgeon at 7373rd USAF Hospital, team physician; SSgt Clarence Allan, tackle, 1616 Spt Sqdndn (MATS) worked at Déols; A2C Dave Madril, guard/middle linebacker, Med Supply, 7373rd USAF Hospital; A1C John Betts, tackle, 3130 AB GP, AP Sqdndn [had some fun] while we were TDY at Chicksands in 1960; SSgt Robert Dace, guard, 3130 AB GP, AP Sqdndn; SSgt Al Geinsiejewski, quarterback and defensive back, 3130 AB Gp, AP Sqdndn and Tom Scott, tackle,I’m not sure about the identity of the last guy in the front row. My personal photo has his name as Tom Scott which I wrote on there in 1961 or 1962. I can’t find either name on any orders I have.  Missing from photo: SSgt James Kelly, 3130th AB Gp (Gym);  A1C George W. Graham, 7373rd USAF Hosp Dental Clinic;  Gerald Bunker;  Henri Labouret, team trainer. Henri worked at the gym.  When he was young, he  was the French flyweight boxing champion.

This team played the Berlin Bears the day the Berlin Wall went up.  We only had 16 players medically cleared to play and and we were behind 18-12 at the half before we were blown away. _ Legend by Dave Madril
