1961 Charlie Brown Intramural Champs
 photo and info from Dave Madril The Charlie Brown softball team was airmen from all Squadrons who were not playing with their own Squadrons. The base gym gave us permission to form a team. I still remember our cheering section; it was a GS-11 and his wife who were there for all of our games. They were a nice couple and we always knew they would be there for us. [Team Members: John Stutts; Al Brennan; Dave Ratliff; Charles Carter; Robert Simpson; Larry Kemp; Dave Madril; Bob Smessaert (Smessart?); John Fortes; and John Costello - Not pictured: Ralph Taylor; Dan Jackson; Oliver Goodman and Norman Bruce. [Info from Dave Madril: One of the guys on the skeet team was the pitcher of our championship 1961 Charle Brown softball team. His name is Bob Smessart. I ran into him in Vietnam as he was being shipped home. He went there not long after Chas and serve 3 1/2 consecutive tours. He was being sent home as he was in EOD and after that long a time they didn't figure he would last much longer. Ran into him in the Cam Rahn Bay terminal awaiting mine and his flight home.]
